Vince Murray

Vince's last march!
Vince Murray, the founder of the Canadian Peace Officers Memorial Association (C.P.O.M.A.) was a C.O. at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre.  It was Vince, who was the driving force behind the formation of the C.P.O.M.A., with the belief that Peace Officers, other than Police, should be recognized for their contribution to the Canadian National Justice System.

Vince became the first President of the C.P.O.M.A., and had formed the first Honour Guard unit at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre.  He also was instrumental in having many fallen peace officers added to the Memorial Stones on Parliament Hill.

Vince is now retired, living with wife, Penny, in Poland, Ontario.  He is now the Past-President of the C.P.O.M.A.
