Beaverton:
70 kilometers north of Whitby and the Hwy 401 at exit 410 on Hwy 12 and
5 kilometers west on County Road 15, near Lake Simcoe, in Durham County
– the building has been moved to a park site in Beaverton – it is being
refurbished – there is one front door, leading into an open room – there
are three cells with stone walls dividing the cells – the cells have wooden
doors – the gaol has a wooden plank floor – a pot belly stove in the open
room provides heat through heat pipes into each cell.
