Provincial Memorial after dedication

The Eighth Annual British Columbia Police and Peace Officers Memorial Parade will be held in Burnaby, BC. on Sunday September 25, 2005 at 1100 hours. The Service will be held at Swangard Stadium, at the corner of Kingsway and Boundary, and will be hosted by the Burnaby RCMP and co-hosted by “E” Division RCMP. The last Sunday in September has been proclaimed National Police and Peace Officers Memorial Day and the Provincial Memorial Service is held in conjunction with the National Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario. There will be a second Parade and Service in Victoria at the Memorial on the Legislative Grounds.

The Brotherhood of British Columbia Police and Peace Officers have lost over 90 Members to line of Duty Deaths and there has been over 600 Members lost nationally. The most recent  being the Four RCMP Members in Alberta and Cst. Joseph Minguy from Vernon BC. who’s body was recovered on June 6, 2005.
These Fallen Officers have given the ultimate sacrifice. They are our hero’s and must not be forgotten.

The last Sunday in September has been proclaimed National Police and Peace Officer Memorial Day and this Service will be held in conjunction with the National Memorial Service in Ottawa.
