The Alberta Memorial was first held on Sunday
26, 1999
The Memorial Ceremony will be held at the
Alberta Legislature south grounds until 2005 when the memorial plaque will
be relocated to a permanent site at the Alberta Centennial Park. Expansion
of the Memorial will take place over the coming years.
The Alberta government has acknowledged the
last Sunday of September as Provincial Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial
Day
